Hi ! I'm Very, very interested by Brasilian music (particularly Djavan, that is the artist that I liste the more in a year). I knew this song, but not it's name, & who had written it. Chico Buarque ; it doesn't stonish me, cause he's another great, great artist. After 15 seconds listening to this video, I've been on a partitions' site, to search the chords & lyrics of this song to learn it and upload it. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this video, I like this song. Well done ! BYE !

thanx for providing the lyrics.

Thanks for the info, I will try to keep a very open mind when I go there.

I was there 40 years ago and I cried when I had to leave. It was horrible to leave. It is my understanding that cocaine has ruined a lot of the preciousness of the sweet Brazilian people. But if you're careful, I'm sure you'll love it.

Appreciate the info, I'm trying to learn everything I can about Brazil before 2016.

carnival is hard to avoid if you're there that time of year. There were times when I was avoiding it, and times when I was seeking it out. Things were better in the end when I avoided it, but that's me. I just love the weather and some other things

Her version is fantastic no doubt but you got to listen Mina's version of "La Banda",if you haven't heard or ever heard of Mina.Type in Mina La Banda, you'll get the difference
It´s an italian version, sung by Astrud Gilberto(the Brazilian Diva of Bossa Nova),of the original song "A banda", composed by the Brazilian "Chico Buarque". The song "A banda" was disputing the festival of Popular Brazilian Music in TV(1966), having been interpreted by Chico and Nara Leão. It was judged the winner, but due to the popular appeals on behalf of the contestant,Chico demanded that it was considered a "draw" between two songs! Cogratulations and thanks for the rare pics!

This is a Carnival song that they sing every year, like Americans sing Christmas Carols...for those of you that haven't gotten to go to Brazil yet...
