@scubarulz You're so lucky you grew up in Philly listening to Hall and oates. I was a teen in the 90s and I the crap I heard on the radio. I love H2O since I was 12 and I still love them. Blue eyed soul! Lol @ the artistic license comment.

what kind of humbucking pickups in that Strat...??..Oates is ahead of EVH in this dept methinks..
Music Man Amps...Heart was using them in this same timeperiod...underrated methinks.

@mypsmells I concur with all your points: growing up in the Philly area during the mid '70s, many of us loved the H and O sound. The silver album was perplexing to us, tho...driving to senior yr. high school that tape played constantly, but a couple of the dudes just couldn't get past the artistic license used for Daryl's facial features...please pardon the "gay" slam, but they were being called "queer and quaker" by some. I was glad to find out they were straight, cause their music was awesome

Thank-you sooo much for sharing this video!!! You guys have a chemistry that can't be duplicated!!! I had an opportunity to see Hall & Oates play in '06...FINALLY...but they didn't play much of the old stuff. Wish I was a little older in '76....Maybe a reunion??? Canada??? Stratford, Ontario is nice!!!! Anyways, thanks for making me smile for 35+ yrs...Love you guys!!!

@metalXhao 1st one? I guess anything on the Whole Oates album (no ones ever heard any of it). I guess you mean "She's Gone"--- from the Abandoned Luncheonette album.
Man... is this a killer set... Can anyone tell me who the other guitar player is next to John Hall.. Im wondering if it's a young GE Smith.

@willrobm That's Todd Sharp on guitar next to John Oates.

Eddie: Wasn't this the tour that Billy Joel opened up for you guiys on? I remember he had just put out "The Stranger" and nobody knew of him at the show.

I can't remember all the acts that we shared billing with (I do remember some acts like Shawn Phillips, Gary Wright and Leo Sayer) but I do remember meeting Billy Joel's band in the hotel lobby before a show and finding out how long his drummer had been with him. But I can't really remember the show itself so I don't know if it was a single night or a string of them. Sometimes there's never enough time to get ready for the show back at the hotel after a sound check and making it back in time.

Was his drummer Liberty Devito at that time?
Leo Sayer? Wow!!! There's a blast from the past!

Yes, it was Liberty. The Leo Sayer billing happened at The Bottom Line in NYC probably in 1975.
