@NovaScotian1992 Thank You so much!! This song is one of my favorites and one of the first I learned to play! Seems to be quite hard to find. Hits close to home. My Uncle was shot down over Laos in 1966, and is still listed as MIA. I will never forget that day we got the phone call. Since then I have done my time in the military, and have attended many funerals as the Honor Guard. "Lost Children" would be another good one to post. Again, Thank You!

Great classic song -- great writer. I loved this song as a college student - but now -- what to say about this message? After seeing Vietnam I found there is more to it then just singing "I hate war"? If patriotism is a bad disease -- what to do about the Hitlers of this world? If patriotism (and the willingness to fight for one's country) is an ignoble dream would there have even been a Scotland then?
Of course was only one of many such songs...in the period past. Just saying...
