There should be a spoof film about this entire Zone called "Three things I hate about the Metropolis Zone!" The Badniks, The Boss, The platforms with the javelins.

If I remember right, the reason behind Metropolis zone having three stages is that they were originally going to have another set of two acts for another zone, but it got cut. To keep the game from being too short they decided to tack on another act for this zone instead. This, in turn, really sucks because as you stated Metropolis is the bane of all evil. That is unless you've played I Wanna Be the Guy. Now that game made me cry like a baby and look like a loony cursing loudly at my screen =)

Odd... i dont recall that boss giving me trouble, also i always played Sonic & Tails mode maybe it makes a difference

currently stuck on this level on the xbla version.....can't get past the spike part at 2.04 in this video. i don't use super sonic cos i have never known that ablity existed until i asked someone recently but i still don't wanna use super sonic to do it. it's damn annoying.

Yeah, all I can really say is watch the spikes and take your time. And it's a lot eaiser without super sonic. The whole of Metropolis is really. >/
