MEET ROBO JEAN LAFAURIE

Meet Robo Jean Lafaurie, one of Montreal's most unique citizens. The athletic Lafaurie was slammed into a coma in a head on collision caused by an oncoming driver who fell asleep at the wheel. To his and everyone else's amazement, he made it through rehab and through a series of circumstances, started to bowl. To date, he has bowled over 30 perfect games and continues to persevere. He must wear a supportive hip brace as well as a special glove and knee brace -- all of which has gleaned him the nickname 'Robo Jean'. Here, he goes to town with fellow bowlers Geof Isherwood and Gordie the Boomer. On this occasion, he decided to construct an impromptu set of blinkers from a large paper coffee cup. "It's helpful for cutting out peripheral distractions," he grinned.
