NS 072 (CSX Q741 Empty Tropicana Train Reroute) w/ 2 AC6000CW's charges east up the grade towards Woods at Front Royal Jct (B50.0). This train is making an appearance on the H-Line and B-Line due to a derailment on the Anacostia River Bridge in Alexandria. Several more reroutes are expected to run this way. Ironically, last year at the same very time, CSX had to close down the Anacostia Bridge due to structural problems, which caused several CSX trains to be routed this way.

  • This Train Passes By My Home Every Day

  • @Millenniumforce It was a treat to see the Tropicana Train running on NS rails in the Shenandoah Valley of VA!

  • I believe this train ran down NS all the way to Lynchburg, VA. Then east on NS to CSX Collier Yard in Petersburg, VA. The train is headed east/southbound.

  • This video was shot in Front Royal, VA (northwestern part of the state). The derailment on the bridge had no affect on Amtrak trains as the bridge is used for freight only.

  • Someone will end up getting fired for the mess. A coal train was heading into Benning Yard, they cut away the power and didn't tie the train down. The train rolled away and 5-7 cars got dumped into the river while others piled on the bridge.

  • @meccaturbo Really? If CSX & UP promote laziness, then what does that leave for Norfolk Southern & BNSF? These 2 railroads seem okay.

Even though I still watch CSX & UP trains in action.... That's about it! Same with NS & BNSF.

  • @acerocken Yes they do, they promote lazy people.

  • @meccaturbo They don't suck man.

  • I didn't realize that the Tropicana trains went so far north before being split apart. I see these trains in Zephyrhills FL all the time.

  • Awesome video!

  • CSX is too cheap to do the right thing and completely replace that worn out and crumbling Anacostia bridge. That ex PRR bridge has outlived its usefulness and needs to be replaced. You'd think they'd spend some cash on this project since this is their only north south route on the eastern seaboard.

  • Great video.

  • When I lived in Florida this train would pass right by the house. It used to be much longer.
