that Vhs tape that guy gave them was not a movie but actually a tv series made by Saban Entertainment. The same company that originally made power rangers.
It was supposedly an attempt to create an original amercian made Tokusatsu (japanese special effects) TV show. Much like how many films tv shows are made in japan in that genre.
