Interview with Violin Maker Yana Zhang of New Zealand, filmed on a Canon 60D and Panasonic GH1

While in New Zealand I had the pleasure of meeting many of Huiru's friends. One friend, Yana Zhang, provided us with an great opportunity to document her passion and love of the violin both playing and making them. Having begun in her youth at age eight Yana has many many years of experience both playing and making violins. Living now in New Zealand Yana hopes to reach new customers seeking a custom violin that has a rich deep sound not common to many. Please enjoy this sample of her playing and her story.

This was filmed using both a Canon 60D and the Panasonic GH1. All audio as captured using a secondary audio capture device using the Ride Video Mic. In my travels to New Zealand I actually took more camera gear than clothing something that became apparent to any one that I met more than twice while I was there , LOL. Yes I washed them ha!
