Billy Bob Thorton response to interview on CBC. Most painfull interview with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC Q TV with band members of the Boxmasters. His band was great...but Billy Bob, you should know why you are receiving the mashed potatoes without the gravy!!

Regardless of how he handled it or who he is, you don't know what you're talking about. I'm in radio, so I know. When you apply for an interview (Billy Bob, Metallica, etc.) have a list of conditions for the interview, and you must agree to the conditions before you get to interview them. If you don't agree, you don't get the interview. Simple. QTV wanted the interview, they were given the conditions, agreed, then went against them. Are you happy with a person when they lie to you?

You should be thankful QTV even considered interviewing you. Jian only listed your film accomplishments and you go all weird.

@RHMETAL Regardless of if they did or didn't respect his conditions, i think when your a public figure who's intent his to attract people to your business or show or your work, you should conduct yourself in a respectfull way. He could of just said " i'd rather not answer or go on that subject as i asked your producers before, thank you " Instead he made a fool of himself by treating the host with contempt, and no one liked it.

@RHMETAL Jian said the producers didn't want him to ask questions around Mr Thorton's acting career, and he didn't. Jian tried to talk about the music, but Mr Thorton didn't. It gets really odd that when Jian says "Given that you are quite passionate about music" Mr Thorton interjects: Would you say that to Tom Petty? Jian: Would I say that he is passionate about music? Mr Thorton: Ya. Jian: Ya. Mr Thorton: Really? Would you explain why it's not a hobby? So what is Mr Thorton trying to say here?

He doesn't like sensationalism? Then why is he on stage whining about his interview on Q? Jian didn't go into his acting career...he mentioned it to give context like he said. The producers told Jian not to focus questions around his acting career, which he didn't. He asked him questions about the band, his musical endeavors, the music he listened to when he was a kid and he wasn't answering any of the questions. The other band members had no trouble with the questions.

@Dragonking1984 Nobuo Uematsu was famous for makeing the music of most of the final fantasy games yet later when he left squire and did other things one of those was be in a band called the black mages. and he don't mind talking about his work with squire in fact it helped him since his fans then listened to that bands music. and the same would of been said about this band but now there rep is flushed down the tube along with billy boy's cred.

@RHMETAL my response to what you said is this: why would you not want not want them to mention your previous work? i don't beleave the whole "Billy Bob didn't want them mentioning his acting career, because he didn't wanna be the only one in the spotlight in that band." line because that's basically saying that this band is nothing without him. fame don't make what you do any less note worthy.
