Part 2: Before becoming a winner in Indy Car and NASCAR competition, Penske Racing dominated the American sports car scene. In this installment, Roger Penske laid the foundation for his race team by hiring Mark Donohue. The pair won the 1969 Rolex 24 At Daytona and captured USRRC, Trans-Am and Can-Am championships, paving the way for Penske Racing's move into Indy Car and NASCAR. See more at www.alltelracing.com

  • Yep, not only do they get Donohue's '72 Indy win wrong by a year (how do you blow THAT, exactly?), they confuse the moment more by accompanying it with a pic from '71.

While we're at it, AllTel, couldn't we manage to find a professional voice-over announcer who doesn't read the script like an awkward elementary school student? Jeez...

  • @youarthurhu Nobody understood car setup better than Donahue.

  • @indyfan22k Oh stop, has nothing do with that, if parents did a better job of raising their children instead of depending on religion and television there would have been no reason to sue the cig makers. Futhermore, I don't support smoking and don't like it, but people should make their own decisions if they die from smoking, that's fine with me. Has nothing to do with Penske...

  • Mark Donohue was a great, very great driver, I remember him with symphaty (correct?)....ciao from Italy

  • Donohue won Indy in 1972, not 1973 as the narrator said.

  • Mark Donahue died a day or two later, after appearing hale, and healthy. He had a brain injury that would be routine to diagnose today with MRI. MORON, do your homework before you speak.

  • you are right about the commercial other wise it would be excellent .

  • OMG what would I give to have one of thoes IROC Porsche's

  • turned it off at the commercial.....jeez, what a shame

  • Donahue won NASCAR in the least aerodynamic car ever, the flying brick 1972 AMC Matador. Watch "Matador Our Town" for more info.
