  • OH! MY!! HEAVENS!!! THIS IS B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!! He could belt out a romantic song like no other! GOD Bless You Fost for sharing this with me. I LOVE THIS!

  • @roybo1930 I think he was 10 times better than Bing Crosby. It's just so sad that his life was severed so early from him. I think if he had lived as long as Bing he would be just as famous, if not more famous today!

  • Daniel, you don't know how happy I am. Al Bowlly is one of my favourite singers. This song is so beautiful!!! I can just imagine how it was in that time and how I miss an era I never knew and that I'll sadly never know. Thank you for uploadind these wonderful videos!

  • @Drewfan30s Many thanks!! Yes i wish i could have been there as well. Al Bowlly was the one who got me interested in dance band music in the first place!!!!! :)

  • My Dear Fost,

I love Elegant Al singing this Ultra Romantic song and the orchestration is

DREAMY....I especially love the pianist....so delicate as if STARS are glistening.

Merci....a million STARS...fav.. and to my romantic PL

  • @genia106 Thanks Genia, there was something totally unique about his voice. I also think Ray Noble's band was very unique as well, sounds very different to the bands of the era, alot more flowing. These two things in harmony is such a brilliant combination.

  • This song as sung by Al is so evocative of an era that was fast approaching its end. ....That end being the beginning of World War II. Things were never the same again

  • I Had loads of these great tunes. Due to having had mental problems i gave all to junk shops.! I know it does not make sense,

  • @Fost0989 I wish I had more of Al`s Recordinds, I do have quite a few (Around 35) But not this BEAUTIFUL RECORD!

  • @Fost0989 Well I LOVE THEM BOTH!!! So I can`t say who is My favorit! But Al just had that extra little sompthing that was all his own. I have almost every Bing Brunswick he ever recorded. As well as his Victor`s And Columbia`s. There My favorits! When he went to DECCA In 1934 It just was not the same except for a few of the first recordings. No matter what Al did it was AWESOME!!! Also regardless of year! Another WONDERFUL singer that went befor his time TRAGICALLY was Russ Columbo.
