@UnknownSaxophone My comment about it being a privilege to serve the Royals was what the Household actually said, many years ago, when the meanness of the servants' wages was being discussed. I left the comment to speak for itself!
I agree with you absolutely. The Queen is one of the richest people in the world, further bolstered by tax-payers, but I have yet to see the hospital, library, school, she has sponsored and, when Windsor Castle caught fire she wanted tax-payers to pay for repairs.

Nice of the Royal Family to bestow upon its subjects the same unquestionable love and adoration they demand from us.. A truly pathetic institution in a modern 'democracy'.. When Tory run Westminster council decides to make sleeping rough illegal in the heart of London I fully expect the Royals to open up some of the 650 or so rooms in Buckingham Palace to help house society's most downtrodden..... FAT CHANCE!!!
