A cleaner in the Royal household talks about the bad conditions and poor health and safety they have to endure in Buckingham Palace, and the fact they don't even get the London living wage. Sign the petition in support of the cleaners at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/royal-cleaners.html, and get more information on the campaign at pcs.org.uk.

  • @UnknownSaxophone i hear that

  • @UnknownSaxophone My comment about it being a privilege to serve the Royals was what the Household actually said, many years ago, when the meanness of the servants' wages was being discussed. I left the comment to speak for itself!

I agree with you absolutely. The Queen is one of the richest people in the world, further bolstered by tax-payers, but I have yet to see the hospital, library, school, she has sponsored and, when Windsor Castle caught fire she wanted tax-payers to pay for repairs.

  • @splashydash I sincerely hope you mean to say that sarcastically. What have the royals done for you recently? (apart from kindly granting the proletariat a one day rest from pointless servitude lol), where does Kate Middleton work again? When is it William is deployed to Helmand?

  • Nice of the Royal Family to bestow upon its subjects the same unquestionable love and adoration they demand from us.. A truly pathetic institution in a modern 'democracy'.. When Tory run Westminster council decides to make sleeping rough illegal in the heart of London I fully expect the Royals to open up some of the 650 or so rooms in Buckingham Palace to help house society's most downtrodden..... FAT CHANCE!!!

  • @JamesDGallagher Yeah....because at least 75% of the population work as cleaners and in other menial jobs in the UK!

  • The Royal Family don't pay higher wages because it is a privilege to serve them.

  • You're no worse off than 75% of the population. What's this "it was supposed to be done by a man"? Haven't you heard of sexual equality?
