  • "without the stators" ...... what does the stator do ?

  • Basically the stators control the flow of air. There is a row of stator blades between each row of compressor blades. (Also between the turbine blades) The stators are fixed and do not rotate while the compressor blades do of course rotate. If there were no stators the airflow would rotate with the compressor blades like a corkscrew. The stators stop this.

  • The engine you see at the end would be worth at least a million dollars!

  • I ment to say "the whole thing is nearly supersonic".

  • A question I have had on my mind: If propellers don't work in supersonic flight, how do these babies overcome supersonic tip-speed syndrome (as the whole thing is supersonic). Would it it possible to make a special ducted fan (with similar technology) for a piston plane that could go 600+ mph?

  • why would you want to stop the spin?

  • This is a wonderful video...pieces are missing it seems. Where can I get the rest of the video?

  • @davypassane more accurately the stators prepare the airflow for the next stage, its usually a 50% reaction 1/2 of the pressure gained in the rotating stage and 1/2 in the stator stage, without the stators there would be no pressure gain.

  • @macusual ...Yes you are absolutely right. The statement should have been " The acceleration of the body is INVERSELY proportional to the mass of the body based on Newton's formula.

  • oh...sorry...you gave the right formula but you made a wrong statement about it. It is suppose to be "the acceleration of the body is INVERSELY proportional to the mass of the body"...I hope you are not offended by this statement I made. I just want to correct a common statement error. Peace Bro!!!

  • it is very useful to learn
