Kaiden- weeks 5-22

Quite a few weeks compiled into one video here... Easier because not all weeks have hundreds of photos like others do!!! LOL

At 8 weeks old Kaiden came home for the very first time. He was extremely unsettled and cried non-stop. After a few days of this we took him back into the hospital where it was discovered he had a groin hernia coming through. He stayed in hospital for a little while for the operation and recovery.

When he came home it was the same thing all over again- extremely unsettled, non-stop crying and we wernt getting any sleep at all (even less than you normally get with a newborn!!!). We rang the hospital to tell them what was going on and they tried to fob us off with, "Oh, its just colic. Theres nothing you can do, just hold him and comfort him". But we knew it was more than that so we refused to back down and she finally told us to bring him in.

It was also around this time that preliminary tests confirmed Kaiden had hearing loss to both ears. At this point i developed Post Natal Depression and i couldnt stand to be anywhere near Kaiden. The sound of him crying sent me into massive panic attacks and i thought i was going to die. While in the hospital Kaiden's second groin hernia came through for which he had another surgery and recoverd well again. Kaiden stayed in the hospital for a few days and we decided it would be best if Kaiden stayed with Christian's Mum until i got the PND under control. I attended sessions with a Pychiatrist and went on Zoloft Ant-Depressants. The councelling helped me so much and within a week i wanted Kaiden home to try again.

Kaiden has been home ever since and we've never looked back! I took myself off of Zoloft after a few months because i didnt want to depend on them for the rest of my life. Ive had no relapses, as can happen to some women.

Kaiden received his hearing aids when he was 19 weeks old and the dramatic change in him was instant... It was as if he became a completely different baby! He just came alive right in front of us, he began to smile non-stop and it was the happiest time we had had since his birth.

Kaiden is such a beautiful baby, those eyes are incredible. this video brought me to tears, thank you for stopping your day to put it together and share. He is a champion and can handle any challenge life hurls his way. And he has such a lovely mother.
