After buying a 1989 S15 GMC Jimmy I started working on it and altering various aspects. Before I knew it, the look of my truck had changed drastically. So I thought I would put together a time line of the work that I have completed thus far. Please share what you think and any ideas for future additions.
Changes include:
-removed grille guard
-billet grille
-painted bumpers and wheels
-window tint
-driving lights
-after market side view mirrors
-black headlight doors
-running boards
not in video
-fog lights
-removed rear air deflector
-removed front air dam
-removed tire/tire carrier

  • how can i remove the spiler from the back it seens hard i dont want to brake the rear cristal do u have any idea how i can do this ?

  • @X2N18 hey bud, you can pop of the the covers on top of the spoiler with a screwdriver and beneath that are two screws. just undo those and the spoiler will come off. however there will still be two pieces that raise up to hold the spoiler that are part of the hinge. you'll have to find two flat hinges and swap them out in order to get a clean look.

    Thanks for the comment

    Cheers!

  • Have you ever had problems with the digital gauges?

  • I have the analogue gauges. But I do know that they are usually problematic.

  • nice truck but it looked waaaayyyyy better before

  • Fair enough, too each their own. Although this video was made a while ago and I have changed a fair amount since this was done. If you're interested, check out my most recent update video 'GMC Jimmy'

  • So how do you go about getting and installing those bottom lights that are on your front bumper? I have the same truck and I was thinking about adding those kinds of lights but I dont even know what they are called or where to look. Thanks for any help.

  • yo tengo una 1985 y no se que hacer con ella... ja ja ja...

  • nice truck. check out my 1994 blazer

  • stock version is better

  • these are killer trucks i had a 94 they have a few problems one is EGR valve is always getting clogged up, easy fix take it off and clean it. But a huge problem is the fuel system they have what looks like a spider with the injectors at teh end on each line. the lines all cross and rub which creates pin hole leaks. which will make truck run like shit

  • sweet truck ma n. i got a 93 gmc jimmy 4 door and thats what i want to to mine. i want it to look like a tank. dam thats a nice looking truck

  • Just a thought, I can't grasp why dudes put (keep) running boards on these things. I'd remove those, along with the.. Spoiler(?) thing.. And the little rain deflector on the underside of the front bumper. Then I'd put a 92-93 front clip/chrome grill on it and lower it 2-3". The two-door 4x4 Jimmy and blazer s-series could look so fucking good.. And they perform too, with the Vortec 4.3 anyway. That's it, I'm gonna go buy one.

  • Lookin gooood.

  • I too have a 1989 GMC S-15 Jimmy 4.3lt 4X4. It is ruff for body. Have you pulled the engine out of one before? I bought a Haynes repair manual. I knwo the 4.3s are a best of a engine. Is it difficult pulling the engine out if you have done it before. I am looking to turn it into a Typhoon.

  • hey what kind of bush guard is that on the front?
