Grady Smithey, off the cuff, but at a public, City Council meeting. 05/05/09

Mr. Smithey is called onto the carpet for having a conflict of interest in the proposal to give $184,000 to a company from which he, and Mayor Green, received thousands of dollars in campaign contributions. In retaliation, Mr. Smithey satisfies himself with the statement, "Mr. Ford, I think your village back in Massachusetts is missing its idiot." While few outside of Texas may understand his words, you'll hear them toward the end of this clip and recognize them thus.

And in response, Mayor David Green, and Mayor Pro Tem Dorothy Burton do not chastise him, or call him out of order, or anything. They merely move on. How's that for equal application of the Council's (Mr. Green's) laws?
