The trick starts when he offers the guy the decks to pick, they're all rigged decks. Every card in every deck is the 10 of Spades so no matter what happens he's got a 10 of Spades in his pocket to produce it.

she can pick whatever card she likes, when he showes to the audience he knows what card she picked.. several ways to know, the fastest and "best" way is to have someone in the audience tell you, when taking out a specific card is not hard. rest is ofcourse showman ship

Svengali deck? Someone please tell me i'm wrong. I think he sold it better than anyone else has, but still uses the classic fool deck. I'm sure i'm wrong tho.
