i worked as a diecut operator for 13 years for a nj based box plant-----like you guys said--bust your ass--mega hours--now a bad back----only to get laid off----besides unemployment---i got nothing----dont waste too many years of your life working in a place like this----retirement plans are a joke----get out while you still have your fingers

If nothing else at least IP got you some fairly decent machinery to work on. The Smurfit plant I worked for is fill with antiques.

lol ya know lagetaway i think since IP has taken over our business has lost quite a few accounts and seams they always try to pass it on as it is the employees fault{just my opinion}. We had 1 incentive plan which was box of the month and of the yr no golf tourney no fishing tourney or shittt but they can tell us every month well most months that we made several 100k if not in the millions some months but cant afford shittt for the employees and St Joe plant is one of the if not the best plant.

I work for IP (st joe) and i love the money and the fact that i have a job but i cant believe we produce the shit we do with the idiots we have in the management crew. And ohh if any of u read this that is in the K C Mo plant how do u like the new dick head Jody Gwinn what a douce bag

I've been running a corrugator for the past 25 years. My apologies for any warped board I may have produced in that time lol.

BTW, this was the EXACT same thing I thought of when I first heard this song! Thanks for showing me that great minds think alike!

I feel your pain, guys...I work in the same environment (Stamping/Embossing/Die-Cuttin
g). Last year, I was working 50-70 hours a week. This year, I'm LUCKY to get 36! Some weeks, unemployment would pay more! Industry's rough all around Hang in there! -
I worked for IP for 24 years. 17 years as a ward flexo oper. IP is the WORST co in the world to work. We are the most profitable container plant they had. I finally had enough and just quit. What I walked away from was nothing. Retirement was a joke. GOOD LUCK IP GUYS YOU WILL NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see some people wearing their cut resistant gloves. What about hearing protection? couldn't see if it was being used. I'm now with International Paper.

Oh yes, we don't go out on the floor without them, if you look close you can see orange plugs in my ears. since then we have been fitted with our own personal hearing protection which works a lot better. As you know SAFETY COMES FIRST! Thanks for the comment, Alan Bunn, Kansas City, KS Plant.
