I Just Love This Show, I remember watching this when I was living on the farm in Canton South Dakota, and It was on Public Television In South Dakota, and I also remember watching Shining Time Station, Mister Roger's Neighborhood, Captain Kangaroo, Star Lore, Storylords, Square One TV, Once Upon A Time, ect, ect, I hope when my two nieces are older, I'm going to introduce this and Other Old PBS Shows, so that They'll Love It, Like I have Before Them.

@1990SuperGeek: I don't mind Abby. In fact, I don't even mind Elmo. The only things I really mind are the oversaturation of only a few characters so that the others don't get a chance to appear as often & now, the recent jump to overusing CGI to the point that I fear that the actual Muppets will be phased out for CGI renditions of themselves.

@ 31/2 gets elmo more action than most of us will see in a lifetime! smh!

May The Next Generaiton (including my nieces) Would Love Sesame Street , Like The Present Day Generaiton Before Them, Oh Btw If Jim Henson (r.i.p) was still alive, I think he'll be so proud at what he did.

I Hope When My Neices's Are Older, I'm Going To Get Them Into Watching Sesame Street.
One reason for it's success is because you can't hate this show. It's too good to be hated. Even if you are 30, you still love this show because the characters are timeless.
Happy 40th Sesame Street.
