Long time fan of Lou Rawls. I was a young white teen from "burbs" of Detroit when I got turned on by - Tobacco Road as well as Dead End Street. In my circles he was under-rated . . . way ahead of his time. Took wife to see him in Rochester NY ~ early 1990's ?? and, she enjoyed him as well.

I was 16 in 1968, and I listened to Dead End Street and Tobacco Road (and others) over and over. What an incredible voice!!!
