does that only work of ford cars? or is there other cars with similar locks?

I did one of these this afternoon and only took a few minutes. The better quality ones have the 4 heights marked which makes cutting a new key even easier.

I simply explained the benefit for a licensed locksmith using it to open Ford doors. Most mobile locksmiths can then cut a replacement key on the spot.It has an intended purpose it suits quite well in the trade, I wasn't suggesting it was the only method nor the best method but it has a worthy purpose for those it is designed for.

@ozmedia - But you never said you wanted to make a key and using the VIN number then consulting the Ford book to cut a key is even faster by just using a punch cutter to open the door. Or are you talking about GTAing the car. Most newer cars you need to program the key also.

@JusmeAndy Kinda hard to make a key with a slim jim though. You can cut a key from a tibbe pick.
