  • If only they were cleaner. North Texas would kill these guys, but don't feel bad. UNT is after all "The Most Dangerous Drumline on the Planet" for a reason: 24 PASIC national titles. No one else comes close.

  • ^^^umm...they would kill 2005...not 2008-09 under the direction of Tim Greene......

  • I know of Jeff but I think ya'll lack the entertainment side of things...c over here @ HBCU land we are clean plus more entertaining...........over there u guyz focus more on technical aspect and lose a crowd who knowz nothing about rudiments........

  • boy stop Norfolk is better. they have more precision than you guys and they have a cleaner sound.

  • obviously u ain't seen SCSU this season or last season...

Don't base what u know off of old Utube vidoes.

  • upto date vidz youtube com/user/FireInstructor

  • THEY HAVE CAME A LONG WAY

  • i swear i couldn't have said it better myself! all this corp vs hbcu crap is like saying a different genre of music that you so happen to listen to is better than another. it's impossible! i absolutely love both styles of drumline. i'm currently in a dci style high school drumline and we change our show around every year so we do part hbcu part corp style. put a DCI style drummer in a HBCU band and he won't do very well by their standards at all. it's SO HARD to dance and drum at the same time

  • ii know how to play the whole thing lolz tru talent

  • All of this back and forth in here between D.C.I. style and HBCU... What is now " modern " rudimental drumming and " HBCU " rudimental drumming all came from the same place. Old drum corps and I am talking going back to the 50's and 60's. Really we can all thank the Swiss for practically inventing the whole " rudimental " thing in the late 1300's. With audio and video recording we are able to get ideas of other ethnic or cultural percussion from around the world. Lets use this people

  • @crzychzwngs i've done it. is not too hard to dance and play 2's and 4's. but the people didn't like me too much because i always talked about their lack of techinque and the dirt produced by a college drumline. FAMU

  • them 32 notes at the end was nice

  • ok people state drumline is better than norfolk duhh ii knw this. How do i know this? i go to all pracitces games and most of their battle of the bands they have in orangeburg since thats where i stay. when most people goin to do stuff halftime i stay and watch the drumline so yea i kno 4 a fact scsu drumline is better and cleaner than norfolk drumline. im not sayin norfolk not good but scsu drumline is better

  • @TheDragonmaster18 What composes a general audience? I'll tell you: the average, non-musician who doesn't know any better! That's why professionals judge the REAL competitions, not halftime shows. I wasn't at that game, but I'd bet my salary that UNT blew Rice out of the stadium. UNT's sound versus the MOB? There's no comparison! BTW, if it's a home game, OF COURSE the audience is going to root for the home team regardless anyway!

  • @qjbomb1 dude you guys didnt even have i was compaing our halftimetime shows not the band in general. and rices halftime show was more entertainig dont get me wrong i enjoyed you guys but most of our audience at rice doesnt really like that style

  • @TheDragonmaster18 LOL!!!! RICE? Are you serious??? The way U of H spanks you guys every year should be humbling, then you have the nerve to call out UNT??? The MOB is composed of a student-based group of smartasses that MAY have talent, but it's for fun. I have a former percussion student enrolled for the Fall. He'll show you guys how it's done!! Speaking of, SOME music majors want to actually find jobs afterwards. You think a Rice percussionist would stand a chance versus a UNT grad???

  • @1stDgree Yeah right! Like SO many other drumlines have!! Get over that dillusion!!! Check the PASIC scores and archives, THEN try to find room to talk. I can always point out the non music majors on this thread by how ridiculous the postings are!!
