Dollywood Express Backshop

this is footage from the Dollywood Express back shop, it had snowed the night before and the park was closed. My friend Tim invited me to the shop to look around.

Why at 1:23 do they have a cab that has 71 on it?

Becouse they have a #71 that just doesn't run. I think the plan is to restore it someday.

@Thunderhead925 ok....no! they have/had 4 locomotives. 70,71,72 and 192 . 72 was destroyed in a roundhouse fire in skagway alaska in 1969. the shell of the locomotive was shiped to dollywood and scraped in the 90's.

@Thunderhead925 yes 71 is sitting on the farthest track, outside, behind the shop building.

@baldwinloco12 I have only heard of 2 engines. Didn't know they had 3 (or 2 and parts of 3) So they have 192, 70, and 71?

Oh well to each is own I guess. Yeah it would look better if they fabricated a new bell bracket so the bell hung out at an angle. But I still miss the new look though.

They didn't mess up 70 front end either. The new look is pretty cool. They can easily change it back to the way it looks but they don't want to right now. It's not the end of the world or anything. 70 would look even better if they fixed the bell and made a new brackett for the light.
