  • I met someone who had this poem hanging on their wall, but the version they had rhymed. Has anybody ever seen that version. I've been looking for it, but havent had any luck.

  • im an atheist and i love this poem :)

  • @drjx93 Oh and also, I believe God called us, christians to cast out devils, lay hands on sick people to heal them in Jesus name, speak in weird tongues and also drink any deadly thing and it wouldn't hurt me. I'd not show it off, but I believe if someone would put me to death for my faith in God by letting me drink poison, God would protect me and not let me die. Unless ofcourse, it's part of His plan with my life. :)

  • @drjx93

The bit you took from psalm 137 is a grudge the Israëlites held against the devastators of Jerusalem. I'd be pissed too if some crowd did that to my town...

Leviticuz eh... Many Atheists refer to deuteronomy or leviticus in a discusion, I wonder why...

But anyway, I do not support homosexual relationships. It's wrong, and not the way God meant a relationship between people to be. Wouldn't he have created two Adam's or two Eve's if he'd support homosexuality?

  • @drjx93 You ask for a shred of evidence of God existing, but it's staring right at you. Just look at the images in this video of the sandy beaches, the golden sunsets, and the beautiful sea birds. If God didn't make all these wonderful things, then who did?

  • @drjx93 Well you pretty much missed the whole entire point of my comment. And actually, you do realize that the bible supports all of the terrible things that i just mentioned that you are saying aren't "Christian". I highly suggest you read the bible so you can be sure of what you are believing in. What you are doing is cherry picking good things, and forgetting all the bad things. How is that searching for truth at all? it seems that you're just accepting the parts that make you feel good....

  • @drjx93 I am a Christian, yet I believe wholeheartedly in accepting everyone for who they are, I believe abortion is murder, so does ANY Christian who knows the scriptures, and just so you know, most Christians DO NOT support slavery, and those who do are idiots who don't know the meaning of being a Christian. I support gays, I AM a woman, and my religion sure does not suppress me, but makes me feel as though I have even more power than men! Everything you named is the OPPOSITE of Christian!

  • The bible preaches intolerance and is one of the most terribly written books of all time. Not surprising, considering they were collected in bronze age Palestine by illiterate, uneducated, superstitious peasants. I will respect your right to believe, but NEVER tell me to respect such a disgusting and grotesque book. Even if there was a shred of evidence in favor of your God existing, I still would not worship such an immoral and horrid being. Want to know why i'm an atheist? I read the bible.

  • @lumbiaknight87 I'm sure you know where these lines come from :

Psalm 137 : Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.(Leviticus 20:13)

And let's go to the NT for some fun: MK 16:17-18

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.

  • @greenwaves31 If i believed in supressing women and gay rights, promoting slavery, genocide, and infanticide, and then i called it my religion, and i fullheartedly believed in it, is it now not poison? Just because you believe something doesn't make it good by any measure at all. The qualities i just stated as "my religion" are actually all qualities your god is proud to hold. Don't even for a second try to tell people that it's a good thing. It's time humanity has grown from imaginary friends.
