Making a pizza bun for lunch using the waste heat from the boiler at work. The pizza bun is precooked, but the toppings are cooked and cheese melted, and edges crisped in this simple cooking setup. It is a gentle radiant heat and the result was extremely moist and flavourful veggies, like a solar cooker might produce. This is also a test of the Adobe Premiere Elements 4 software that I am thinking of getting with my Photoshop Elements 6 upgrade.

  • strangely i am addicted to this kind of stuff =D

  • You might like the Hippy Gourmet's YouTube channel then. He occasionally does solar cooking and segments on running vehicles on solar energy and even waste fast food cooking oil (McDiesel) with an emphasis on organic, sustainable and eco-friendly foods and products.

  • Hey thats real neat, were do you work?

  • at a laundry. The washers, dryers and presses are heated by steam, thus the boiler.

  • that kinda looked like a McCain pizza, but I see now it wastn't. Now an ice cold beer and your all set!

  • Make mine a root beer. A couple of the day staff came in after their on shift Friday with cans of Arizona that didn't smell very much like iced tea at all. They were getting a good start to the long weekend.
