my grandfather's coat

my grandfather's coat hanging by the window is not the coat he is wearing in the photograph, but one he wore later in life. it was given to me 19 years ago by my grandmother shortly after he passed on. the photograph was taken in 1919 and shows my grandfather aged 12. at this age he had already been working for 2 years as a dairyman, in charge of a dozen cattle which he would milk twice daily. the inspiration for the title and look of this film comes from robert frank's triptych entitled 'my father's coat'
