I have designed a system to work with the Futaba 9c that allows the VR-A and B knobs to be quickly replaced with a 3d joystick for use with FPV pan and tilt systems. The 3rd joystick can be removed and the radio will function like stock in about 10 seconds.

I can retrofit your futaba 9c for about 250 dollars if you are interested.
I can build you this pan and tilt system for about 65 to 70 dollars.

Just send me a message.

  • dou you have a picture of the wiring work?

by the way, I am trying to figure out how to connect a headtracker without the trainer port because that is taken by my long range system...... what I was thinking is replacing one of the VR switches with the wires from a headtracker, but that didn't work for me, probably because headtracker was nog getting enough power from the switch wiring. though I tried to power it separately, , that didn't work either. Can you give directions? Thanks!:)

  • @DrDimk0o

    I do not

I doubt the head tracker outputs a resistance signal (0 to 5000 ohms) That is why it wont work with a vr knob. A vr knob only sees resistance if you go and apply a square wave or some kind of voltage to the vr knob circuit that might only accomplish damaging something.

  • @DrDimk0o Right.. didn't think about that :) besides I found a solution - just wire the two together. Headtracker will use PPM in and long range system uses PPM out and both have same power and grounding. :)

  • @DrDimk0o

aren't you using both at the same time? wont this cause a conflict?

  • where did you got that joystick par number or supplier retailer any thing !! i had being looking for it for a long time but i cant find it

  • @ptacnik1988

hey bud its just a joystick from a standard R/C controller. If you have a old controller laying around just pull one of the joysticks out. I believe they all use 5k ohm potentiometers...There might be some 2.5k ohm ones out there too...The 5k is most desirable for use on the futaba.
