What is the purpose of unmarked fire/emt vehicles as opposed to police?
-
What beacon is that?
-
@00pstv: Sorry it isn't. I am the Fire Officer the owner of the video speaks of. It was my LFB lease car between May 2006-2009. At the time I was a Stn Commander based in East London but was attending a training session at Paddington when I got the shout to an address in Chelsea so remember this as I hardly ever pick up work in that part of London. I saw this video posted as an 'Unmarked Police car' and contacted the owner to correct. :-)

@00pstv cool stand corrected lads

@00pstv No it's definatley a fire officer, It's out of arms reach of the driver its the same in wales the fire cars all have lights in the centre of the car

At 10 secs I froze it, recognise my profile, the long whip Aerial used by LFB (Now defunct as we have airwave) and the blue light from the back door as I plugged it into the plug in the rear of the car.
as a serving member of the police its cid

@00pstv The driver of this car has spoken to me after seeing this video, he says it was his lease car. He is a fire officer based in E London who was on a training exercise in Paddington.
You can also tell it is a Fire vehicle because of the larger beacon, commonly used by the LFB rather than the Met, and the positioning of it; the the rear left, rather than immediately above the driver (i.e. arms reach)
