Hmm thats interesting... I have just noticed as I watched this, I wonder what the loco in the shed clip is? It doesn't look like silver fox. Two reasons are, at 04:23 there is no silver fox on the boiler side and at 04:06 there is no builders plate on the side. This could be an Empire A4 as they did not have shed plates on the cab-side. the ending number has also been covered up. Wonder which one it could have been??

Very interesting to see 'how things were'. I imagine setting the timetable in pre computer days must have been some job!
What dreadful verse though!

Been there, done that. Later I got the Flying Scotsman to Newcastle at 12.35 with a Deltic and the sods held me on the south side of King Edwards Bridge for 14 minutes as we were due in at 12.54.
I belive the fireman (Kings Cross) was Ron Ruffel. Nice quiet sort of chap.

Ahh, for the days when people knew how to dress.
No 'casual' clothes then.

My Grandpa see 0.50 and 0.54. Thanks for putting this very special film for all to see. It is a great story of a time gone by how he, Donald, found his station and life long vocation.
The finesst of British engineering, skill, pride and efficiency...where are these qualities now ?
