Adding a continuously variable drive to RF30 type Mill drill

The conversion uses a Piaggio 125 scooter CVT mounted to the motor and intermediate pulleys. The buzzing sound comes from the fenner final drive belt which at the moment just catches on the main post.

A longer CVT belt should allow the IP mount to swivel around a little more to clear the post

    Yes. A snowmobile uses a very similar CVT to a scooter. Although scooter's usually have a separate centrifugal clutch whereas skidoo's seem to rely on the take-up of the belt as a clutch.

  • ooohhh 9-11. That thing works just like a clutch on a snowmobile, or close to it.
