@coronelcool First, its not $3 billion, and it can turn and climb and an AK can't destroy it with one magazine. And how does a man shoot a fighter jet with an AK while it is flying?

this plane was designed to have superior performance to the f-16. also, in air superiority combat,i would take the f-35 over the su 37 any day. then i can see the bad guy and he can't see me.

@rolandtran10 the a-10 is very manuveable..is is also an attack jet and a close air support jet..the a-10 performs and very critical role that even our newest fifth gen. fight cannot perform. which is why the pentagon decided not to cancelled it. we will always need a jet that can fly slow spot and attack smaller targets like enemy troop, tank, etc. the a-10 is a bomb truck with a cannon on its nose.

@TheProjektcc If it gets into a dogfight it's dead but in over the line of sight combat it should be just as good as the f-15 or better.

@TheProjektcc - It'll be fine. Doesn't have to be incredible, it's been well verified that ultimate maneuverability does not make a fighter platform. I'd bet it'll match the F-16, which is still a world standard for maneuverability.

@pilotboy8532 Well, not according to the guy who designed the F-16. The guys were complaining about how the wings are too small etc, and that it would probably be a jack of all trades and master of none.

sensors, sensors, sensors we get it! It has great sensors, all new planes have excellent sensors but can it maneuver?? That is something a fighter jet is supposed to be able to do.
This thing may be in big trouble if it gets into combat with other fighter jets.

@DarthFanta 9Gs, 50deg aoa, how can you say it can't turn?
Plus 360 deg engagement capability with the DAS/helmet. Equally effective day and night.
Moreover the F-135 has been tested at 20% more thrust than the specs. It is likely that in the near future the F-135 will have a wartime setting with 10% more thrust, giving the F-35A/C a decent supercruise speed.
