Egyptian Royal Family

The royal family of Egypt is the Muhammad Ali dynasty which originated with the Albanian general of the Ottoman Imperial Army Muhammad Ali Pasha. Sent to drive the forces of Napoleonic France out of Egypt he founded a royal line that ruled as viceroys, sultans and finally kings of Egypt until the overthrow of Fuad II in 1953. For 150 years the Muhammad Ali dynasty were rulers of Egypt and a powerhouse in northern Africa affiliated first with the Ottoman Empire, then the British Empire and finally as an independent kingdom. The family continues today with Fuad II still in exile in Switzerland.

@Rico8458 They are Egyptians. The founder of the dynasty was Albanian but like virtually every royal house marriages over the years have made them a mix of various ethnicities and nationalities.

@namsomiharbi why would you say that his Albanian origin is a lie? Just because he was Albanian? Do you have something against us? Everybody knows he was Albanian and you come up with a ridiculous claim. Not that I care about what he was, because he never really did anything for us Albanians. He might as well have been a Martian for all I care.

The founder of the dynasty Mehmet Ali Pasha was born in Kavala in present day Greece but his forefathers come from Konya in todays Turkey.The Albanian origin of

the dynasty is a french invention.
