The SPL and the Scottish Football League are shite, let's face it. Here's some proposals for how it could be bettered. What d'you folks reckon?

hey man, Im a lifelong RANGERS FAN, and would just like to say there are a number of issues nedding resolved, but I WOULD NOT GO as Far as to say that scottish football is SHITE!!!... YES THERE IS NOT A LOT OF STRENTH AND DEPTH, AND YES THE SPLIT IS RIDICULOUS. none the less Rangers made the uefa cup final in 08 and this year HIBS BUILT A NEW STAND AND ABERDEEN ARE ABOUT TO BUILD A NEW 30000 SEAT STADIUM. IN A LOT OF ways it may appear grim but in some ways its on the up!!!

@gwangjuboy1 Falkkirk knocked Rangers out the cup this year.And they are in the first div.Ayr and Kilmarnock and playing in the semi,who are bitter rivals.Ayr have knock out 3 SPL teams along the way.INVERNESS,HEARTS,ST MIRREN.There is life outside the SPL.And even if the SPL,Motherwell have been in 2nd place for most of the year.Why are EPL and championship clubs buying our players?Why are Scots running teams in all those leagues?And have a habit of doing well?Gers could easily stay up in EPL.

@gwangjuboy1 What about St Johnstone beating Celtic in Glasgow for the first time in about 12 years in Glasgow a fortnight ago?Is that also laughable?Ayr United are my second team.So if I say Kilmarnock are a joy to watch.Trust me it does not come easy.And there still playing in the same system that Mixu had them playing before he left.St Mirren have adapted the same free flowing football.And are also worth watching this year.How many championship teams drew with Man U,last season like the Gers?

@legandrydirk Kilmarnock playing total football? Hahahahaha! Scottish football is truly banal, completely lacking in depth and competition. Rangers and Celtic are the equivilent of strong championship teams; the rest of the SPL is of league 1/2 standard. Your remarks about Inverness drawing with the Old Firm are also laughable. There is nothing remarkable about drawing with the Old Firm. The Scottish league is probably on par with the Cypriot league; no hyberbole.

@BryanAJParry Hearts split the auld firm,a few years ago.And might do it again this year.And Kilmarnock are playing totall football.And Inverness have just came up,and drawn twice with auld firm.Scottish fooball is far from shite.We just need to re struckture the league,to what the fans want.Cos at the end of the day,they keep these teams in existance.But they dont want the 16 team league cos of financial reasons.It would bring us through more players.And get sum of the teams playing attacking

IT IS PURELY DOWN TO FINANCE, IF SPL CLUBS HAD THE REVENUE FROM TV RIGHTS LIKE CLUBS DOWN SOUTH DO, THEN THE PLAYING FIELD WOULD BE A LOT MORE EVEN!!! TAKE AJAX, ANDERLECHT, RANGERS AND CELTIC, THESE ONCE GREAT EUROPEAN SIDES WILL NEVER CHALLENGE DEEP INTO EUROPE AGAIN BECAUSE THEY ALL COME FROM SMALL COUNTRIES WITH SMALL POPULATIONS AND LOW TV REVENUE IN COMPARISON TO I.E ENGLAND AND SPAIN. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE THESE TEAMS IS IF THEIR NATION WINS THE WORLD CUP OR TV RIGHTS ARE EVEN4ALL!

And yes, we got smashed by Germany. It was a pathetic result. Oh well, four years time maybe...
