I also wonder how much the media influences peoples opinions on the economic crisis. The news is always using scare-tactics to create headlines to hook people in. Issacs opinion is similar to mine becuase the only way i worry about the economic crisis is for the availability of jobs. my life hasnt been severly affected otherwise, and i rarely watch the news. media is known for only reporting the negative, and i wonder if i payed more attention if i would be more worried. interesting. -mike s
As a strong and healthy man in my early twenties, I will admit that the military has definitely crossed my mind. If I wasn't so vehemently opposed to war, this might have been an easy decision I might have made years ago. But I am, so I don't see that as an option. Interesting to bring up government accountability. It is also interesting to see how apathy and possibly a lack of knowledge changes how a person lives through the crisis.
I liked hearing from Ashley about the way that her sister has been affected, specifically about how people she knew were forced to join the military in order to pay for things. My good friend recently had to enlist in the Air Force as well so that he can pay for his medical school.
Interesting how Ashleys perspective is shaped by the direct experiences of her siblings. Isaac, at first seems somewhat less informed, but honest, and seems to consciously make the choice to not get caught up in the negativity of the crisis mentality.
Isaac brought something up that I'm always wondering about. He said he didn't pay much attention to the news and he didn't seem to worried about the crisis. I don't know much about his background but it makes me wonder how much of the economic crisis stress is brought on by the media, and if people would still be struggling to make ends-meat regardless of everyone knowing the nation was in an economic crisis. Good job.
