  • That Swain is a Bad Influence

  • No offenses to Cliffs fans, but i always thought that he plays more with brutal fire power than with intelligent shots. But it seems it worked so good for him

  • who would think that this kid interviewed at the begining will become the best racquetball player of all times? funny hehe.

  • I know he was also a near scratch golfer and he got a hockey scholarship to go to Providence. I hope he has better luck with investments that the restaurant in Naples with Bernie.

  • @northcentral2009 I appreciate the comments. Cliff is an amazing athlete.

  • @mrbobevans - agreed - but only a possibility. His dad (Red) pushed him to play rball and to leave Providence College to go on the pro tour. I think he could have been a fair pro player and ended up making a very good living as a pro at a tennis club in either FL or CA.

  • I was with Cliff when he lost in the first round of qualifying at the US Pro at Longwood Cricket Club in Boston - he had a pretty decent match the first year and got bageled by a 17 yr old the next year. He told me that he didn't have the automatic tennis reflexes that he had with racquetball and that he was too old to get them.

Having played (and lost) to him many times in racquetball I think I had a pretty good idea of his athletic skills - he was the fastest player I ever played..

  • I wonder if Cliff wishes he had solely focused on tennis. The guy could have been a top 50 player. Had he done the tennis, he would have been playing in front of thousands rather than 100 max, ;and in front of millions on TV. He would have been playing the likes of Sampras, Agassi, Becker, etc on venues like Wimbledon, US Open and Roland Garros.

  • @79Satd he lost it when he was young during his hockey days
