Performed by Judy Garland in A Star Is Born, 1954. This is a High Quality, Full Screen Close Up.
In my opinion, this is one of the most classically beautiful moments ever filmed. It's simple & elegant, with Judy singing beside a piano ... a classic setting, a classic dress ... a Classy Lady.
My Melancholy Baby is a popular song published in 1912. The music was written by Ernie Burnett, the lyrics by George A. Norton.
Come to me my melancholy baby Cuddle up and don't be blue All your fears are foolish fancies, maybe You know dear, that I'm in love with you. Every cloud must have a silver lining Wait until the sun shines through Smile my honey, dear while I kiss away each tear Or else I shall be melancholy too.

  • Such class.

    Judy was incredible.

  • @MrFrankangelo

Indeed she was, but how many others have been robbed of a well deserved Oscar? Peter O'Toole has been nominated 8 times and never won it. Many lesser actors than him have won it. There's a heap of pretty overrated actors and actresses out there who somehow won an Oscar.

True, in the 50's the Oscar still meant something, unlike today, but it seems Grace Kelly had "charmed" most of the judges so she somehow won the Oscar that year.

  • Everything about that clip was great.

  • judy looksand sounds beautiful here. She should have won the oscar for this role SHE WAS ROBBED!!!

  • At the beginning of this clip there is a pianist sitting at the piano, but at 0:35, there's no one there! I had never noticed that before.

  • A star was born and her name is Judy Garland Happy birthday 89 years old and we still can't get enough of you! Rest in peace for you are sorely missed !!!

Still loving you Barbara... FOREVER MORE......
