Quality Video Sound for Less Money

Sound is very important when making movies.
You don't want to use the internal camcorder microphone, it records the sound of the tape rolling inside the camera. You can get high quality sound and only spend between 15 and 40 dollars. Your videos will be twice as good with an external mic.

do you know anything about digital camaras I have one I can take about 50 minutes worth of video with it,,,but theres no sound,,,does it have a mic in it ,,or is there a switch thats turned off Im not turning on,,,I dont understand digital camaras very good,,the instruction manual doesnt seem to say,,I really would like to get sound with my videos,,with this digital camara I have,, can you help me

@Dolphindream15 Somewhere in your camera's menu there should be a drop-down menu for audio options where you can turn on the sound. If you can't find that, maybe your camera takes audioless video?? like for slideshows?? Idk for sure. I would get a hard drive camcorder if I was you. :) Good luck!

I meant to say "internal microphone" when describing the camcorder's mic.

Oops. That's what happens when you do something in one take and put it up w/out editing.

Too bad the cheaper camcorder models are cutting slack and removing the mic inputs. I would have to pay $200 more for the exact same camcorder to have a mic in.

oh one more thing I have 2 videos on you tube that were taken with my digital camara NOTICE theres no sound ,,,what am I doing wrong,,

save up for a shotgun mic! way better quality, some need phantom power tho

You need a balanced Mic to get rid of the buzz and a long mic cable will make it worse.

the mic is not good becuz you're only getting the left channel. the right channel is not sound. listen to ur vid using headphones....you'll see what i mean.
