@MzMarcyC Yes, we call those banyaks. Shameful of you to even mention those lifeless pigs.
-
@rusroyce Not all Ukranians are from Russia, some came from the Russian occupied areas Of Poland!
-
These Ukrainians think that just because they escaped the USSR they can make perogies all day, shameful!
-
Anybody visiting or from the Lower Rainland (greater Vancouver area) can buy perogies with Baba's fingetprints all over them at the two Ukrainian Churches in Richmond, on saturdays. Various fillings, sauerkraut, dry cottage cheese, potato and onion to name some. You can catch the addys off any search engine.
-
they look like Chinese dumpling but with a different filling...

I remember when I was 4 or 5, as long as I could pinch my fingers together I was helping Baba make Perogies. I think I am going to make some tonight. :) lol See what happens!
Looks like the church hall in New Jersey...beautiful

My Mother was Ukrainian, and I only remember the basics of making what she called veranykey. I am learning by watching, and I enjoyed the music!
