GarageBand '11 is is a powerhouse recording software that also has really amazing guitar amps and effects built right in. GiO is the ultimate way to plug your guitar into your computer and record with pristine Apogee quality. Not only is GiO the ultimate guitar interface for GarageBand, but it also allows you to scroll through the pre-set guitar sounds, control stomp box effects, and has a transport control to punch in and out of record or navigate through the track.

In this video we show how easy it is to quickly get set up and record with Apogee GiO and GarageBand '11.

  • could this run through thunderbolt? btw did I hear a Larry Carlton tune there?

  • @roccckkerrr GiO is a USB device.

All the music in the video was written by Sergio (the guitar player in the video).

  • this sounds so good, it's a shame you can't actually get it to sound like that. the amps and stompboxes in garageband are quite bad and you're charging a high amount for something that lets you use this crap without touching your hands. with that money i'd rather buy some proper recoring equipment and get a higher quality sound.

  • @TheMattPegg What you are hearing in the video was recorded using only the amps and stompboxes in GarageBand. A big part of what what makes it sound so good is GiO. GiO is not only a controller for the amps and stompboxes in GarageBand and Logic, it is also has a very high quality guitar input that captures your guitar's true tone. Give GiO a try, and you will be amazed at how good the amps and stompboxes actually sound in GarageBand.

  • @apogeedigital ......cant i connect to my computer....lets say i have a core 2 duo ... cant i connect to that ..usin USB port or somethin

  • @acousticx77mythil Yes, GiO connects to the USB port on your Mac.

  • until i see a demo of INSTANT switching from one tone to another without any gap in sound whatsoever... i will never ever ever trust a piece of equipment like this

  • I just bought Main Stage 2 for my MacBook Air and this looks to be a brilliant compliment. The design of the unit it self seems to be efficient and well thought out in the relationship to Garage Band, Main Stage and Logic. However, not saying it is not worth it, butI did have a tiny bit of sticker shock.

  • Does anybody use this thing for live use? I have heard that it does not do well into a PA without a DI Box.

  • fucking mac, only thing as a windows fan i want is Garageband.. .tried to run mac osx on virtualbox lol didnt have garageband even.. lol
