Just a quick video. I know I need a better camera and Mic... Once I am out of college, I swear. Anyways this is just a video about how the CRTC wants to allow companies to charge exuberant fees for going over the download limit you subscribe to. Think a dollar for every gigabyte. Here is a bit of a diddy about it.

The CRTC won't let me be
Let me download what I want to see
Dollar to four over my cap
Kills the internet on my lap
Less than a cent to give this service
Charging a buck + makes me nervous
Worse the companies also lie
About the bandwidth speeds advertised
But us 150,000 mind and signed
To show where we draw the line
On this anti cash-grab petition
To stop a bill from being in fruition
That allows freedom and choice
Of unlimited internet being our voice
Because we go online and post our stuff
I got to say we don't get enough
This is like attacking net neutrality
When the internet should really be free
So go to the website in the notes

  • does anyone else find it ridiculous that they pay 3 cents to give us 1MB of internet but they want to make us pay 1-4 dollars? That's like them selling an item that cost them 3 dollars to make and selling it for $400... I'm so glad they're reversing that whole stupid worthless idea...

  • @ChaoticAngelKitten Yup, it is super ridiculous what they are trying to charge. Just like charging money for people to RECEIVE text messages on cell phones. It costs less to send a text message to the moon than it does to send a text message to a phone.

  • Did you just say eh?

  • @haloguy145 Heh, I totally did. Helps prove I am Canadian.

  • Its only for resellers you idiot

  • @bbyxazn And they're killing their ability to be competitive "idiot". But if you honestly believe that you should be paying $2.00 a gig, let me be your internet service provider.

  • @bbyxazn You must be told this all the time though, surely.

  • @bbyxazn, Jesus christ you're fucking dumb.

  • Switch to telus they're not doing it...

  • so they reversed this decision? and also, if they didn't, does it apply to USA?

  • @GordonEdward What part of Canada you from?

  • @GordonEdward I love me some steriotypes!

  • @WSCybertraders Couldn't agree with you more... Though I am in Western Canada, so less of a pull from them, but more of one from Shaw who jumped on that band wagon of overcharging.
