Statewide Day of Action to Defend Public Education. Thursday, March 4, 2010 has been declared Black Thursday. Wear black in SOLIDARITY with students, parents, public education employees, and activists against further cuts to education. Tell everyone to wear black on March 4. Share the attached flyer and postcards; help spread the word! A mock graveyard will also be set up on the front lawn of the Merced campus, corner of M and Yosemite Streets; tombstones will represent the 245 classes/labs and the 13 classified positions already cut at Merced College due to state budget cuts. Please take a moment on your break or lunch to visit the graveyard and mourn our losses.
