Yosimar Reyes - "Girls' Night Out" (UC-Berkeley, 4/09)

From the Mountains of Guerrero, Mexico comes Yosimar Reyes, a 20-year-old Two-Spirit Poet/Activist based out of San Jose, CA. He holds the title for the 2005 and 2006 South Bay Teen Grand SLAM Champion, and has been featured in the Documentary 2nd Verse: the Rebirth of Poetry. (2ndversefilm.com) He has also published in Mariposas: A Modern Anthology of Queer Latino Poetry (Floricanto Press). Yosimar is currently touring his self-published chapbook, For Colored Boys Who Speak Softly and is proud to be part of this project representing
for all the ill-brown ghetto boys from his block.
