  • I thought the Beatles recorded All You Need Is Love in just one take. o-o

At least that's what George Martin says in the Beatles Anthology...

    Unless I misunderstood it...

  • @romanowskistudios I'm sorry for the lousy typewrittyng!!!!

  • @jazzynet1 You must have been really wasted by remenbering snoq being on the ground, As I believe, this spng came out during sonetime in the firzf week of Aprik,....I could be wronf ....

  • guy in our gang had a vw bus. we were wasted on acid driving thru a typical cleveland snow storm tripping our brains listening to this on the radio. boy were those the daze :O. we were blessed to have experienced everything.

  • Amazing, John hitting such a high note with such ease (as high as Paul because his voice is doubling Paul's part in the "Dying to take you away bit)! Exciting stuff.

  • @Matrix803 They lied.

  • @Matrix803 i think he meant that George's solo on the TV special was a LIVE take, and they were worried that he would flub it- Which he did! I think that is what he was referring to-Matt

  • Is the banjo actually audible in this track? I had read once upon a time that the banjo was never used on a Beatles recording

  • @Matrix803 They Recorded the backing track over 2 sessions - the first session one of the few times they recorded outside Abbey Road then Lennon performed his vocal and Harrison his solo - plus backing vocals, brass, strings during the first live tv satellite broadcast - done in one take, but they played along to the basic backing track of drums, harpsichord, bass, banjo, piano etc. This chat by Paul and John is during the rehearsal before the actual live take...
