Now, Mitt Romney has chosen a right-wing lunatic as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate. Unless the majority of U.S. citizens are stupid, self-loathing, or both, Romney/Ryan will lose in November.

Obama misrepresents everything. If we taxed the rich like he wants, it would pay for about a week's worth of our expenses. How's your plan working for us, Mr. President? The US prospered during the 1950s when the tax rate on the rich was 90% for all earnings above $250,000. The rich were extremely wealthy and happy then, but they wanted to control everything and have all of the money. Now, the top economic echelon controls 90% of the wealth in the US. It is us vs them and they are winning. Americans work harder and longer for less money, while the rich take a greater share. The rich are eliminating the middle class and they want to eliminate Social Security.

If someone makes $10,000,000 per year, and we tax their first $1,000,000 at 35%, and their remaining $9,000,000 at 90%, they would have $1,550,000 remaining from one year of "work"? That amount (post-tax) of money is almost as much as the average person making $40,000 per year makes in 40 years, and that person has to pay about 25% of their lifetime income in taxes. If the rich leave, let them go, burn their passports and freeze their assets as we do for terrorists. The rich are not "great".

1. Tax the churches, because they are for-profit political institutions.

2. Cut the military budget by ≈75%. We would still spend more than any other country on war toys.

3. Tax all income (including investment earnings) >$1 million per year at 90%. This is the conservative way to tax people (i.e., Eisenhower).

4. Provide more birth control to all and encourage people to have fewer children with tax incentives.

5. Provide food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, and pensions for all.

If it were not for social security many retired people would have no money. Corporations eliminated retirement plans in favor of 401K plans. 401K plans are gambling and you're gambling against the rich who have inside information and benefit from market bubble collapses (i.e, technology bubble burst in 2000 and the housing bubble burst in 2008). Millions of people lost their 401K funds during these bursts; if it weren't for social security, they'd have nothing.
