Here I've sung all the parts, using Acoustica Mixcraft and a $20 headset mic. My recording is inspired by the Chanticleer version. There are a total of 10 voices here, including the solo.

This is a beautiful arrangement by Ralph Vaughan Williams of the Scottish folk song, Loch Lomond. There are a couple different stories about the song's origins, which you can read about here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bonnie_Banks_O%27_Loch_Lomond

Good old Wikipedia ;). I was also going to do a Scottish accent in this recording, but I basically forgot, and then it was too late :P.

Anyway, enjoy!

  • Thank you. Although I cannot understand Scottish, but I appreciate the peace and serenity in this song. It makes me feel better in some blue night. Please don't be frustrated by those ugly words but cheer up. I am sure there are still many people like me that appreciate your works. Thanks again

  • I love this arrangement.Your voice is wonderful.I believe you have some fans here.I think your voice is so comforting.I don't know how people who cannot sing get famous. You are MUCH better than these singers of today. This is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.I wish that I would have come across your video sooner, because that would have meant that I could have been enjoying your singing longer;oh,well, better late than never, will continue to listen.Sandie

  • Lovely, gentle and inspiring!

  • Brilliant !!!

Britain owes so much to Vaughan Williams for preseving a part of our heritage that had sadly been neglcted. We already had the poets and authors but he showed us that we had a rich musical legacy.

  • I'm back.

I always come back to this version.

There is something about it that gets me right to my soul.

    thanks again

  • Nevertheless the main voice does not stand out as necessary, give you the greetings and harmonic vocal arrangement, brilliant and touching. This arrangement deserves a new recording and played by a real choir. Congratulations great job!

  • Well, I think it's terrific.

  • Hypnotic......

  • I just listened to this for the first time (your recording) and simply loved it. It is truly inspirational.

  • Good job! Nicely done!

  • Loved it, thanks so much for the time and talent you've put into something so lovely. Now I must check out your other offerings. Blessings to you and yours.

  • I liked it! In spite of all the bad comments this video has recieved, I think it's a good version because it doesn't sound like a concert hall recording but something much more intimate, more like a group of people singing at someone's house, and I think this music relates much more to this than to a concert hall :D
