My dog also does this, and she ges plenty of exercise.

@swigglevision it is instinct. My weim is just 4 months old and he digs around in the bed or pillows or sofa everytime he lays down. It is good to know where the instinct comes from. Thanks for the facts!

My weim does about 12 circles in his bed before he lays down, wees all over himself, walks into lamposts....and i wouldn't change him for the world lol.

my weimy does this on my bed after i make my bed trying get under the covers .... no bed is too small. they tend to do this!

How cute!! This dog is neither stupid nor bored/obsessive what comments. In my house we call this "pillow kickin" or "mind fence" (that one was from some movie)but what I was told it is is actually a smart thing that remains in the dna from many weims ago. They are supposed to be bedding down and checking for snakes and other harmful things before they plop their butts down. Not a stupid dog at all..just nostalgic maybe?
