  • The ears are done prior to a certain age in which the blood vessels and nerve endings have not moved to the ends of the ears. My Dobe had his done and the very next day was rolling around on the ground and playing with three other large dogs with no pain whatsoever. The Doberman Pinscher was bred by a door to door tax collector who needed protection, the idea was a dog that could not be grabbed by someone trying to fight it, hence the short ears, tail, short coat, and tight body.

  • two of my favorite breeds

  • i have a Great Dane named Shady and my sister has a Doberman, both AKC registered. And I was just wondering if you/ya'll docked the Dane's tail. But none the less, 2 beautiful dogs.

  • try tyre

  • @symba The point is nuturing a cat is sometimes essential. And the mcdonalds comment was just retarded lol.

The point is, that docking the ears is purely for show, docking CAN (and often does) put the dog in unecessary pain purely for the vanity of the owner.

  • @symba Well its just to help overpopulation of pets because so many pets have been abanded and abused so getting them nutered is a good thing in the long run.

  • @symba hahahahah.......i hate mcdonalds

  • i think it's so stupid when people say.... how cruel you had it's ears cut..and then you go and stuff yourself at macdonalds..or have your male cat mutured.

  • @Tamayo1980 Im dumb because I dont know all about yur personal life and decisions you make! Since when can anyone mind read! AND you took that and made that into something retarded. BUT LET ME GO INTO DETAIL WHAT I MEANT!! Unplanned as in the person had no intentions of breeding their dog, but it happened anyways!! And planned as in a person who breeds intentionally two certain dogs to get puppies around a certain time frame.

  • @nikigurl08 U are a funking dumb blond aren't you? i waited as long as i did because i planned on not getting him fixed, but i had to get a 6foot fence or prove he was going to be a breeding dog. ppl are lazy and dogs judge the "beauty" of other dogs along with unplanned pregnancies is the reason y their are so many unwanted dogs? lol puppies that aren't planned. Didn't know their are puppy planning agencies; i wonder if the dogs have to sit through berthing sessions as well?

  • @Tamayo1980 And good for you but maybe you shouldn't have gotten the dog in the first place if you were gonna take so long to get it fixed! The reason there are so many unwanted dogs is because ppl are lazy about gettin their dogs fixed which case they just mate w w/e and that mean ulgy puppies a lot of the times. WHich isn't fair to the puppies that aren't planned!!
