Today, some Syriacs say they are not Assyrians, So never argue with them because the truth is that we ARE all Assyrian but our literature has been Syriac.
What I mean is that Syriac is OUR common literature and language not our race, ethnisity and nationality. More precisely: Neo-Syriac.
Give time to all to get the point we make.

The mainquestion is not from where Suryoyo is derived from, the main question is to wich group this term was applied to, and 100 sources tells us that the term was adapted to the ARAMEAN PEOPLE

I also grow up calling myself Suryaya in Iran but that did not mean I was not Ashuraya / Assyrian.
In 334 BCE Alexander the Great defeated the Persians in that area and removed the As from Assyria and called their conquered land Syria; Roman used the same name when they took over administration of the region from the Greek. Syrian / Suryoyo are Assyrian / Ashuraye, if we look through the renaming by the Greek and the Romans."

AWESOME! you are absolutely right! the word 'suryoyo' doesn't even exist, it came up in europe. I live in a town where we only have 'Suryoye' (so west-assyrians) but they call themselves 'Suryoye' (Syriac / Aramean) .. I'm almost the only one here who calls himself Assyrian and that makes them discuss a lot with me .. but I KNOW what I am and that's what counts. they accept that we are one people but they do not accept the common name 'assyrian'... what ever, maybe one day they will wake up!

I totally agree with what you mentioned , although this is hard to accept for many who do not agree with their Assyrianism. what i could suggest is that you provide them with a video clip that Dr. Assad explains his theory (an interview) in order to amplify their knowledge toward their own lost heritage

Newborn if we get ASSYRIA and the whole world gonan call us Assyria than the Assyrians wo call themself Syriac or Aramean they gonna chang their vision.

Asuroyo and Athuroyo is not so much difference in the end it means al the same ASSYRIAN
