From album YOU (1975)/Atlantic.
It's a THE SUPREMES's song (Without Diana ROSS) (1974).

Some Lyrics:
"Be careful, my sisters
He's armed with an innocent smile
And a dangerous love record
That can streetched for miles and miles
Hey, girls... you ought to take a hint
'Cause he won't leave no fingerprints
And when he gets his hands on you
He'll have you wanting more
Sha, la,la
He'll have wanting more
Sha, la, la".

  • I don't know why but 0:50 - 0:56 is very special to me.

It's as if my soul cries with her in during that note.

  • Aretha murdered this song completely, truly one of a kind. No one can beat her in her prime.

  • Wow. Aretha does a great cover of the Sandra Wright song. I guess Ree Ree nows talent that's under the rador.

  • @neededsaying thanks

  • I just ran across a clip of Re sanging "Sha-La...". Its titled "Aretha Franklin singing in a fur coat.".. Check it out...

  • Every song on this album has YOU in the title, chorus or concept (the second single was Jerry Butler's "You"). Here she is warning "you" about the sha-la bandit. "If he gets his hands on you."

  • This is so good!

  • @justice000777 I agree. The Supremes sound good but quite lazy in my honest opinion, Ree gives the song what it needs in my opinion.

  • @ packardtwelve: You are so right, lol!

  • That picture makes her look like another queen----The Momma from Hairspray-the movie, John Travolta in drag. Sorry, but she does. She's sanging this song too.

  • Because I am so biased in favor of Aretha, I went back and listened again to the Supreme's rendition. All I can say is that it is truly "different strokes for different folks" - IMO, their version doesn't even compare- even though I agree that Scherrie Payne sounds really good.
