This is how you get rid of the Micro-Stutter within NFS Shift while usign a GTX295 GPU.
It involves using 186.16 drivers and SLI Update v2. Forget the new 191 range of drivers, they make things worse.
Enjoy

  • Thanks guys.

Nvidia are in deeep trouble if there GTX300 is not as good as these new ATI cards. I may be going Red in a couple of weeks, as I'm becoming more drawn in by Tripple screens.LOL

  • @ifeelikepwningnoobs that's not micro stutter

  • i have a evga geforce gtx 460 and get stutter at random times ill be getting 50fps and it will be like this

    50-50-50-50-50-37-50-50 help me?

  • getting the issue with just a single 560ti on a amd platform on the 275.33 drivers

  • I love this... You aren't EVER going to see microstuttering while v-sync is on. EVER. You will get normal stuttering which is mostly caused by a slow or fragmented hard drive.

  • any other way to fix with 266.58

  • hmmm now that i searched around your vids a bit i see you now got a beutifull 5870 ;) and that your 295 was a single pcb, mine is the sandwich version so maybe that explains it. Either way i'm screwed i would love a 5870 but i can't afford it.

    Happy gaming though !

  • How come your 295 temps are so low for these clocks !!! I have mine at 654/1410/1160 and i can easily boil eggs on it litterally running at 95/93 c per core.... i don't know wtf this happens i have a cosmos s case filled with with exhast fans a 200mm fan blowing cold air directly on the card and 2 more intake fans. You have some aweasome airflow and case there. Btw i believe the microstuttering stopped because you have Vsynch on cause if i enable it too ms dissapears completely.

  • Lol ati's newest cards are hardly above the 295...

  • I tried this with an GeForce 9800GTX and I installed the drivers you mentioned along with the settings (minus the SLI). It is better while racing, but in the replays that darned stutter is still there. It's so disappointing. I hope EA fixes it soon. In the meantime I'm loving Forza 3 on the XBox360 - it's silky smooth and looks gorgeous.

Thanks for the tips! I happy is working well for you.
